Travertine is one of the most versatile and unique natural stones on earth. The Romans used it to build many of their structures, including the Colosseum, the largest travertine building on earth. Travertine is used on facades, wall claddings, fireplace surrounds, floors and in showers.

Because travertine is essentially made from water, naturally created by hard water deposits, it’s great for a wet environment like a bathroom shower. Travertine is a type of limestone, but differs from other forms in that it is formed in hot springs called karst.
